Leibniz University
Il nome è stato assegnato nel corso della storia a diverse sedi di università presenti nel panorama internazionale da oltre un secolo.Ad esempio la sede di Hannover della Leibniz University è una delle più antiche. Conosciuta come LUH, è una università situata ad Hannover, in Germania, ed è stata fondata nel 1831 come scuola superiore, per poi essere elevata a College nel 1879 con il nome di Royal College of Technology; nel 1898 le fu conferita la possibilità di assegnare doctorate. Nel 1968 il suo nome si trasformo' da Technical University a University.
The Leibniz University Hannover (German Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover) (also known as LUH) is a university located in Hanover, Germany It was founded in 1831 and is organized in nine faculties.
The LEIBNIZ UNIVERSITY was founded in 1831 as a Higher Trade School. In 1879 it was upgraded to a Royal College of Technology; in 1898 it was given the right to confer doctorates. In 1968 it was renamed a Technical University, and in 1978 a University.
The Leibniz university's profile, from its beginning, centered on science and technology. In the course of the 20th century faculties for arts and humanities were added, and the formerly independent Teachers Training College was made an integral part of the university.
Nine faculties with more than 150 first-degree full-time and part-time degree courses make the Leibniz University Hannover the second largest higher education institution in Lower Saxony. The university staff comprises 1,120 academic employees, including 340 professors, 1,560 employees in administrative functions, and some 900 additional staff funded by third-parties.
